The Executive Secretary of Nigerian Shippers Council , Hassan Bello Monday shocked maritime stakeholders when he called on the Federal Government to shut down the Apapa and Tin Can Ports. Bello said both ports have outlived their usefulness and no amount of artificial face lift would return them to their past glory. President Muhammadu Buhari will soon appoint more ministers into his cabinet. He will  also make board appointments, a demand by his party members over the months. President Buhari gave hints of the new appointments in a speech delivered today to the National Executive of the All Progressives Congress at the national secretariat in Abuja. President Buhari at the moment has 36  ministers, with 14 of them being ministers of state. Transportation Minister Rotimi AMAECHI, took a retrospective look at the challenges facing Nigeria's Maritime Security architecture and concluded that there could be no better time than now to have a functional Coast Guard. Oil and gas logistics giant and port concessionaire, INTELS Nigeria Limited (INL), is in fresh trouble as the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) has ordered a comprehensive audit of a decade of its operations (2006-2016).The development came as INTELS, a company largely owned by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, began to feel relief from a similar rift with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). There was pandemonium in Ogba area of Lagos State as two dead bodies, a male and female, were found in a car parked at a lonely spot, yesterday. Nobody could explain what led to the death of the two adults, who onlookers described as lovers. One of the onlookers alleged that the lady was a married woman with children, while the man was her lover, adding that they were probably engaged in sex when the incident occurred. The deceased were reported to have driven to an area behind the Nigeria Institute of Journalism, NIJ, to engage in sex.
