Indications were rife weekend that Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA and the Nigerian Shippers Council may have met to harmonize a common position on the proposed Nigerian Shipping and Ports Economic Regulator Agency bill currently before the House of Representatives. There is Jubilation in the Niger Delta Region as the Maj. Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu (rtd), the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), has approved payment to beneficiaries not less than seven hundred and seventy-five (775) whose Bank Verification Number (BVN) issues has been resolved. In a statement released on Monday by SA Media to the Interim Administrator, Freston Akpor, it was revealed that those who were cleared to receive payment are delegates whose accounts were recently put on hold.
