Rector of Nigeria’s Premier Maritime Institution, the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, Commodore Duja Effedua has pledged to transform the institution to one of the best in the world. President Muhammadu Buhari names Demola Seriki as Chairman of MAN, Oron Governing Council.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a Governing Council for the Maritime Academy of Oron, Akwa Ibom State. The 4-man Council is headed by Demola Seriki as Chairman. Other members of the Governing Council include Taiwo Tayo Ibitola(SAN), Hon Garba Jiji and Alh Sale Kudiawa. The Maritime Academy of Nigeria has been without a Governing Council since the inception of the present administration. With this appointment, the Interim Management Council of the Academy headed by Aare Adebayo Sarumi is expected to wind up.
