Gov. Diri Awards Scholarship To Double First Class Female Law Graduate *Names Eradiri New Face Of Bayelsa Girl Child

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Monday, announced automatic scholarship to Barr. Ebizi Blessing Eradiri for her Master and Doctorate degrees in any university in Nigeria or abroad. Miss Eradiri is the first female First Class graduate from the Faculty of Law of the state-owned Niger Delta University (NDU), a feat she repeated at the Nigerian Law School. Senator Diri, while formally receiving her and her father, Mr. Boloupaye Eradiri, at the Government House, Yenagoa, also offered her automatic employment to lecture at the NDU Facility of Law. Gov Diri Seeks Better Welfare For Armed Forces

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Sunday, called for better funding and equipping of the Nigerians Armed Forces. The governor said this would serve as motivation for the military in the bid to end insurgency and insecurity in the country. Senator Diri stated this during the interdenominational service to mark the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the King of Glory Chapel, Government House, Yenagoa. Bayelsa Govt Restores Calm In Peremabiri Community

Calm has returned to Peremabiri Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State following the intervention of the state government. Some yet to be identified gunmen had attacked the community on Sunday for the second time in about a week, shooting sporadically and engaging in arson. The residence of a known repentant militant leader was reportedly torched in the attack.
