Buhari appoints Jime as Executive Secretary Nigerian Shippers Council

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Emmanuel-Lyambee Jime as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council. Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, confirmed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja. According to the statement, Jime, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law, brings his wealth of experience to the new role having distinguished himself in several public offices. He was at a time Managing Director at the Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority (NEPZA) and a two-term member of the House of Representatives representing Makurdi/Guma Federal constituency between 2007 and 2015. President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR will on Thursday June 10, 2021 in Lagos perform the official launch of the assets under the Integrated National Security and Waterways Protection Infrastructure also known as the Deep Blue Project. Preparatory to the launch, the Maritime Security Unit (MSU) of the Deep Blue Project comprising personnel from the Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Police and Department of State Services are conducting simulation exercises for the event on the land, air and sea assets of the Project to confirm their readiness for full deployment. Former President of the Association of Nigeria Customs Licensed Agents(ANLCA), Prince Olayiwola Shittu has linked the perennial gridlock on the Apapa access roads to the presence of too many petroleum products tank farms close to the main roads. A Special Mission Aircraft was received in Lagos on Wednesday, in the final phase of the delivery and installation of assets under the Deep Blue Project designed to secure Nigerian waters up to the Gulf of Guinea. Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, received the aircraft, in company with Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, and NIMASA’s Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Mr. Chudi Offodile.
