Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party in Bayelsa Guber election did not present a validly nominated candidate…INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC said on  Monday  that the Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party  in the  November 16, 2019 Governorship election in Bayelsa State did not present a validly nominated candidate.  The electoral umpire said in a statement in Abuja that the nomination of its Deputy Governorship candidate Peter Esinkuma David was flawed because it fell short of the mandatory age limit of  35 years as stipulated in section 177(b) of the constitution. The electoral body  was reacting to a ruling by the Bayelsa Elections Petition Tribunal, Abuja which declared the election of Governor Douye Diri as illegal and consequently ordered for fresh elections. South African authorities have granted the Air Peace Flight B777 a landing permit to enable it to evacuate some Nigerians from the country. Over 300 Nigerians were initially expected to return today as part of the government’s efforts to evacuate Nigerians in the wake of xenophobic attacks in South Africa. An analysis of FAAC disbursements for H1 2019 showed that the three tiers of government shared a total of N3.842 trillion.Here’s a look at how much each of the five Nigerian states received during the period 5 Nigerian states received the highest disbursement from the Federal Allocation in the first half of 2019, according to an analysis by Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI). The analysis of FAAC disbursements for H1 2019 showed that the three levels of Governments shared a total disbursement of N3.842 trillion.
