PDP ‘ll lose Bayelsa governorship poll to APC, says Timi Frank

Breaking News, News Feature, Politics
A political activist and former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has insisted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would lose the forthcoming Governorship election in Bayelsa state for “choosing to field a weak candidate.” He therefore congratulated the candidate of the APC in Bayelsa state, David Lyon, ahead of the elections. Frank in a statement in Abuja on Friday, noted that the APC’s candidate is better placed to win the elections in view of the fact that the PDP has curiously chosen to field a weak candidate against the APC’s flag-bearer. “APC will win the forth-coming governorship election in Bayelsa State seeing the weak candidate (Governor Seriake) Dickson and the PDP have chosen as their flag-bearer,” Fra...

Delta Local Government Elections: We won fair and square across Delta State – PDP

Politics
DELTA LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS: WE WON FAIR AND SQUARE ACROSS DELTA STATE - PDP We have read with a huge sense of amusement, the spurious, unfounded and even in some reports, utterly nonsensical rantings of some identified chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC over the January 6, 2018 Delta State Local Government elections. To us, these comments are nothing more than the typical whining and bellyaching always expected from sore losers, as a diversionary ploy and smokescreen to cover up their obviously pathetic lack of preparation for the Delta Council polls. We are extremely disappointed but not particularly surprised with the comments of Olorogun O'tega Emerhor, Delta APC leader and former governorship candidate, made from the cozy comforts and surrounding of his cou...

‘Look, Akpabio, I’m not a bastard’ — How Mu’azu opposed plan to reject Buhari’s victory

Politics
Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the historic 2015 presidential poll, furiously reacted to suggestions that he should reject Muhammadu Buhari’s victory after President Goodluck Jonathan had openly conceded. Jonathan, after congratulating Buhari in an unprecedented telephone call while the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was yet to officially announce the winner, told party members that although he had conceded to Buhari in his personal capacity, PDP was free to reject the result. Before Jonathan conceded, however, Mu’azu had threatened to do so on behalf of the party. He even stopped picking Jonathan’s calls at some point. All these are snippets of the intrigues that followed Jonathan’s defeat — as narrated by Bolaji...

BREAKING: I don’t have N1bn to give Jonathan, Metuh tells court

Politics
Embattled former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja not to set aside the subpoena it issued to compel former President Goodluck Jonathan to appear as a witness in his ongoing trial. Metuh further challenged Jonathan’s insistence that the defendant must deposit with the court, for and on behalf of himself, the sum of N1billion in line with provisions of Section 241(2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, before he would mount the witness box. Jonathan had in a motion his lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN, moved before the court on Wednesday, urged trial Justice Okon Abang to compel Metuh to pay the N1bn to cover travelling expenses for himself and his security personnel from...
