The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has suspended its planned inauguration of completed projects in the region in honour of the departed Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo. Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has described the late former Military Administrator of the state, Navy Capt. Omoniyi Caleb Olubolade (rtd), as an indigene due to his love for the state and its people. Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has described the death of Mr. Tony Uranta, executive secretary of foremost advocacy group, United Niger Delta Energy Development and Security Strategy (UNDEDSS), as a painful loss to Nigeria, Niger Delta and indeed the Ijaw nation.
