Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Wednesday, made emphatic clarifications on the state's position about its Atala oil marginal field (OML 46), which licence was revoked by the federal government through the Department of Petroleum Resources in April 2020. Governor Diri, who was commenting on the issue publicly for the first time amid the controversy it had generated in recent times, expressed shock over the revocation. The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and ZED Energy Ltd earlier today signed shareholders agreement for the construction of Brass Petroleum Products Terminal Ltd (BPPT) in Brass LGA of Bayelsa State. The Brass Petroleum Products Terminal Ltd (BPPT) will close any infrastructure gap in the distribution of petroleum products and also stop illegal refining activities taking place in the region.
