MIMA AWARDS: CG Customs , Wale Adeniyi floor Oyebamiji, Abubakar Dantsoho to emerge Most Maritime Media Friendly CEO.

Organisers of the annual Maritime Industry Merit Awards, MIMA,has unveiled the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Dr Adewale Adeniyi as the Most Maritime Media-friendly CEO. In a voting process spanning 60 days, Dr Adeniyi garnared 41.8% of the votes, against Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority, who secured 33%, while Mr Bola Oyebamiji, immediate past helmsman of NIWA, came third with 25.2% of the total votes cast. In other categories, Dr Taiwo Afolabi, Chairman of SIFAX Group, made a clean sweep, winning the MARITIME MAN OF THE YEAR AWARD, LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD and BEST IN CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. After a careful appraisal of activities of critical stakeholders and their overall effect on the operations of the Maritime Sector, the Editorial Board of Maritime Media Ltd, organizers of the Maritime Industry Merit AWARDS, MIMA,Publishers of Nigeria's flagship Maritime Journal Shipping World, has announced winners for the 2024 MARITIME MAN OF THE AWARDS. In a statement released on Thursday, December 5, by the Chief Executive Officer of Maritime Media Ltd, Elder Asu Beks, the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Shippers Council, Barr Pius, MON, was named as the Maritime Man of the Year 2024.
