Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA , Dr Bashir Jamoh ,has said in Lagos that he is surprised that the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, and NIMASA are not one and the same Agency, given the history of its formation. Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, has reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to the establishment of a strong and sustainable national fleet, saying the desire for a Nigerian National shipping line is still on course. Gov Douye Diri receives a souvenir from Dr Jamoh Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, says the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) is key in efforts to wean Nigeria from its dependence on crude oil, stressing that the most enduring wealth of the country is in maritime. The Governing Board of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has approved the promotion of 595 staff, including nine Directors. The promotions were approved the inaugural meeting of the Board in Lagos . A statement by the newly promoted Deputy Director of Corporate Communications, Chief Philip Kyanet, explained that 9 deputy directors were elevated to substantive directors  while 45 Assistant Directors were promoted to Deputy Directors, and 71 Grade Level 14 officers were promoted to Assistant Directors.
