Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Sunday, called for better funding and equipping of the Nigerians Armed Forces. The governor said this would serve as motivation for the military in the bid to end insurgency and insecurity in the country. Senator Diri stated this during the interdenominational service to mark the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day at the King of Glory Chapel, Government House, Yenagoa. Bayelsa Govt Restores Calm In Peremabiri Community

Calm has returned to Peremabiri Community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State following the intervention of the state government. Some yet to be identified gunmen had attacked the community on Sunday for the second time in about a week, shooting sporadically and engaging in arson. The Bayelsa State government on Monday lamented the decline in revenues accruing from the federation account while announcing its income and expenditure profile for the months of August, September and October 2020.
