Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Thursday, marked the Eid-el-Maulud festival with the Muslim community in the state even as he sued for an indivisible and peaceful Nigeria where all tribes and religions would co-exist in love. ENDSARS PROTESTS: HASSAN BELLO ASKS SHIPPING COMPANIES TO WAIVE DEMURAGE

As Nigerians begin to take stock of loses occasioned by the nationwide ENDSARS protests, the Nigeria Shippers Council has sent a passionate appeal to Shipping Companies to apply waivers on demurage charges on cargo. In a statement in Lagos on monday and signed by the Council's Head of Public Relations, Rakiya Zubairu, the Excutive Secretary of the Council, Hassan Bello, was quoted to have cautioned Shipping Companies and Terminal Operators against charging demurage during the period of the protest.   To ensure strict compliance with his directive, Hassan Bello has promised to embark on a surprise visit to some terminals to enforce compliance.

Bayelsa State Government, on Monday, said it has distributed the foodstuff and other palliative items it received as donations in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in the country. It also explained that the government was not hoarding food items in any warehouse in the state. The Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Mr. Ayibaina Duba, who stated this, said the clarification became necessary to ease the tension arising from attacks on warehouses containing COVID-19 palliatives and other items by hoodlums in some other states.
