
Having scored the highest votes casted, the INC National Electoral Committee Chairman, HRM. Justice F.F. Tabai (Rtd) declared Chief. Barr. MacDonald Igbadiwei Esq, the winner of the 2026 ljaw National Congress Presidential election.
The election was keenly contested by six presidential candidates. Out of 685 accredited delegates, Chief Igbadiwei pulls 317 votes against his co-contestants to emerged victorious.
It will interest the public to note that, lNC is the umbrella body covering the entire ljaw nation both home and abroad. It was established in 1991 in order to give a voice to the ljaw people in terms of advocating for development and Resource Control. It’s formation had so far yielded many positive results for ljaw nation, including the creation of the only homogeneous State Bayelsa for the ljaw people.
However, in his acceptance speech, the newly elected lNC President, lgbadiwei calls for peace and unity among ljaw people.
He vows to use his office to aggressively agitate for resource control, thereby ensuring that more oil blocs are allocated to ljaw people by the federal government.
He further lauded the 2026 lNC National election ELECO led by HRM. Justice F F. Tabai for conducting a credible, free and fair elections, while promised not to disappoint ljaw nation for the mandate entrusted on him.
