DOUYE DIRI IS MARITIME EDITORS’ GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR…Ogbuku , Simbi also honored …….

In an award letter signed by the BoT Chairman of the League of Maritime Editors, Elder Asu Beks, who also doubles as the Chairman of Planning Committee of its 25th Anniversary , Governor Douye Diri was voted “in recognition of his outstanding performance in the area of peace and security, infrastructural development, youth empowerment, education, human capital and sports development “, among other signature programs and projects of the prosperity adminstration of Sen Douye Diri. On his part, the Excutive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring, Engr Simbi Wabote was voted NIGERIA’S LOCAL CONTENT MAN OF YEAR, 2023.The League of Maritime Editors noted that under Engr Simbi Wabote’s watch as the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board , “the NCMB has for the third consecutive year retained the top position as the most efficient Federal Government Agency in delivering its mandate. In mid year 2023 Executive Order 001 Compliance Ranking, the NCMB reportedly scored 83.06 per cent to tops of all Federal MDAs and Ministries. Dr Sam Ogbuku, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, was voted the MOST YOUTH FRIENDLY CEO IN NIGERIA in recognition of his contribution to youth empowerment, skill acquisition in the Niger Delta, thus ushering in peace and security in the region.

The theme of the League’s 25th Anniversary which is OPTIMUM HARNESSING OF NIGERIA’S POTENTIALS IN THE MARITIME AND BLUE ECONOMY, which comes up in December in Asaba, the Delta State capital, has the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency, Adegoroye Oyetola, as Special Guest of Honour, Governor Douye Diri as Chairman while his Delta State counterpart, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori will be the Chief Host
