A group under the aegis of Friends of Senator Douye Diri (FSDD) has affirmed the victory of the Bayelsa state governor, Senator Douye Diri for his second tenure in office in the forthcoming governorship election in state over his administration high performance in 3years.
The President of the group, Prince Bodi-Arerebo stated this in Yenagoa on Wednesday while addressing a press conference on the conferment of Senator Diri a prestigious award as 2022 best Governor of the year by The Sun newspaper.
Bodi-Arerebo described the Award as well deserved and a reward to excellent, hardworking, and the modest and visible progress that his administration has impacted the state positively.
He said ” Honestly speaking Douye Diri has perform extremely beyond expectation from the inception of the history of governance of Bayelsa state.
‘I have never seen a governor as humble and hardworking as Governor Douye Diri. Douye has brought into leadership an exceptional character”
He commended the people of the state, saying the cooperation has contributed to the unparalleled multifarious achievements recorded by the administration in various sectors which brought a new lease of life to the state.
The group president further described the governor as an astute politicians who laid a solid foundation for the modernisation of the state, saying that he has demonstrated an uncommon and unyielding commitment to progressive and prosperous Bayelsa
He lauded his courage, selflessness, resilience and nobility in always placing the welfare, peace and unity of the state above self.
Prince Bodi-Arerebo expressed the determination of the organization to intensify more efforts to canvas and mobilize support to ensure that that Governor Diri’s second term bid is realized.
He extolled the media for propagating the policies and programmes of the administration , particularly his unprecedented achievements.
Bodi-Arerebo also praised the federal government for the support to the administration, las well lauded security agencies in the state for the measures put in place to enhance the peaceful atmosphere in the state to safeguard lives and property.
He highlighted some of the aims and objectives of the body which include to contribute its quarters in support of the efforts of the administration towards the development of the state.
According to him the organization would on February 16 organise a giant programme to mark the anniversary celebration of Governor Diri’s 3rd year in office.
He added that so far the organization has destributed over a million of exercise books to different schools in the state to boost education.
The organization used the forum to heartily Congratulate the governor of the state, Senator Douye Diri on the momentous and remarkable occasion of his third year’s in office and passed a vote of confidence on governor.
