Gov Douye Diri calls for collaboration in the Gulf of Guinea

…..Gov. Diri Calls For Collaboration To Fight Crime and Criminality.

Gov Douye Diri

“Irrespective of creed, gender or political affiliation, to do this requires attracting foreign investors. But we know that companies will not invest in a place without the legal certainty provided by good laws and security. Our doors are wide open to receive discerning investors to explore the humongous potential and our rich diversity in tourism and marine. For this reason, security and the legal order remain among the priorities of this government.

For these and other reasons, be assured that the government and people of Bayelsa state are resolutely committed to supporting this project.
The state has provided funding to security agencies all of which are directly controlled by the federal government. We are also working in close collaboration with all relevant federal security agencies in the state.”

~Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, speaking at the inception meeting towards a community based crime prevention strategy, put together by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC) with participants drawn from four coastal states of Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, and Cross River at the Chief Harold Dappa-Biriye Conference Centre, Golden Tulip, Onopa, Yenagoa.
