*Oil and Gas logistics: AILES GROUP lays the benchmark* By ASU BEKS

Chief Michael Onuoha,

Recent reports from the World Bank indicate an unprecedented boom in the global logistics and freight market. It is projected that the current freight and logistics chain which will hit about $18.69 billion in 2026 will leap by 4.4 per cent to an all time high of $6.5 trillion in 2027. But how are the developing nations catching in on this boom?

The 2023 Logistics Performance Index (LPI) which is the benchmarking tool for helping countries identify challenges and opportunities they face in their performance on trade and logistics and what they can do to improve their performance recently undertook a study of no fewer than 139 countries. The study was to appraise the speeds at which individual nations moved. But sadly, the result of the study did not offer any cheery news for developing nations who have so much catch up to do in terms of infrastructure and a better funding template.
The report is coming at a time when several factors have led to disruptions in the global value chain. This is not to say that the ability and capacity of some regions in the developing world to move goods and connect manufacturers and consumers is not improving slowly. However, a more aggressive push is needed to reduce the existing gaps between high and slow supply chains, if developing nations must block this embarrassingly weak link.
Here in Nigeria, one of the emerging giants in the logistics chain, AILES TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS, a division of the AILES GROUP, has come to fill this yawning gap. Founded by one of Nigeria’s greatest philanthropists andentrepreneurs, Chief Michael Onuoha, nicknamed Eriri Ego, AILES TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS, has a commitment to be Nigeria’s leader in providing state of the art and high quality logistics both for dry and wet cargo. According to Chief Onuoha, AILES TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS, want to take the sector by storm.
“We are taking advantage of the construction projects being embarked upon by some of the first term Governors who are desirous of delivering on their electoral promises as well as those on their second term who wish to finish strong”. He continued: “Dont also forget that the Dangote Refinery has just come on stream. This is another huge challenge for us to ensure that we take a huge chunk of the freight and logistics chain to get products from Dangote Refinery to every nook and cranny of Nigeria”, he says.
For an emerging blue chip company,, Chief Onuoha says AILES TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS puts its clients and staff on the front burner all the time. And looking into the future with an intention to be a global player on the African continent, Chief Onuoha disclosed that he has set a target of 1,000 trucks for the company in the next couple of years. AILES GROUP has also stamped its authority in Angola and on the West and Central African sub-region with eyes on Togo, Ghana and Benin Republic.
