Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has described as commendable the listing of the Nembe-Brass Road among federal projects under the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Road Tax Scheme by the Federal Government. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) at its meeting last week named the long-conceived federal road among 44 other selected projects to be constructed in partnership with the NNPCL. Governor Diri in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Alabrah, said after several letters and visit to President Muhammadu Buhari on this and other projects in the state that require federal intervention and partnership, it was gratifying that the Federal Government decided to earmark the road for construction. Sylva yet to resign as petroleum minister – Aide

There are conflicting signals from the Presidency as to whether Petroleum Minister , Chief Timipre Sylva, is still a member of the Federal Excutive Council. Timipre Sylva was among the ten Ministers who last Friday attended a valedictory session at the Presidential Villa having indicated their interest to vie for the office of the President under the platform of the APC .But an aide to the Minister said he is yet to resign his position. His Media Assistant, Julius Bokoru, told Daily Trust that his boss has not resigned from his position. Sylva was among the serving ministers that purchased N100 million APC presidential form to succeed President Buhari during the 2023 election.
