The Governing Board of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has approved the promotion of 595 staff, including nine Directors. The promotions were approved the inaugural meeting of the Board in Lagos . A statement by the newly promoted Deputy Director of Corporate Communications, Chief Philip Kyanet, explained that 9 deputy directors were elevated to substantive directors  while 45 Assistant Directors were promoted to Deputy Directors, and 71 Grade Level 14 officers were promoted to Assistant Directors.
