Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has said the 2.5 per cent revenue proposed for host communities in the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) was grossly inadequate and unacceptable to the people of the Niger Delta. Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Sunday made a surprise visit to Nembe-Bassambiri in Nembe Local Government Area for the first since he assumed office. Nembe was the scene of a vicious shooting incident on November 13, 2019 when Senator Diri and his Peoples Democratic Party's supporters visited to campaign for the November 16, 2019 governorship election.
