Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has described the death of Mr. Tony Uranta, executive secretary of foremost advocacy group, United Niger Delta Energy Development and Security Strategy (UNDEDSS), as a painful loss to Nigeria, Niger Delta and indeed the Ijaw nation. Mr. Uranta, who was a member of the defunct Federal Government Technical Committee on Niger Delta, the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) among others, passed on Wednesday after a protracted illness. COAST GUARD:NIMASA TO PARTNER WITH SOUTH KOREAN

Nigeria, through the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and the Republic of Korea today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of cooperation in the field of Maritime Security and Safety. The Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Jamoh signed on behalf of NIMASA while the Director General, International Affairs and Intelligence Bureau, Korean Coast Guard, Seonggi Kang signed on behalf of Korea.
