Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has described as draconian the National Water Resources Bill before the National Assembly, saying it would have adverse effect on the predominantly maritime state if it is passed into law. Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, was on Friday conferred with the title "Ebe-Ebidou Owei" (one who desires progress of the clan) by the Pere of Tarakiri Kingdom, King Richardford Koroye. The conferment of the high chief title, which took place at the monarch's palace in Toru-Orua community in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state, was part of activities marking the king's 83rd birthday. The governor was quoted in a press release by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, as expressing appreciation to the monarch for finding him worthy to be conferred with such an exalted title in the kingdom.
