Diri Swears In Ayemieye As Bayelsa Acting CJ
Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has sworn in Justice Matilda Abrakasa Ayemieye as the Acting Chief Judge of the state.
Justice Ayemieye took the oath in acting capacity on Monday inside the Executive Council Chambers in Government House, Yenagoa.
Ayemieye steps in following last week’s retirement of Justice Kate Abiri, who served as Chief Judge of the state for 15 years.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, Governor Diri charged the new Acting Chief Judge to maintain the cordial relationship between the executive and judicial arms of government in the state.

Police to recruit ex-agitators in the Niger Delta region
The Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Maj Gen Barry Tariye Ndiomu (rtd) has solicited the support of the Police High Command in the recruitment of ex-agitators into its rank and file as well as officers' Corp.
The Interim Administrator made the request when he paid a courtesy visit to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman at the Police Headquarters in Abuja.
Gen Ndiomu revealed that the PAP has over the years trained a lot of youths from the Niger Delta region who have the capacity to serve in the Nigerian Police force.
