NIMASA SECURES APPROVAL FOR DISBURSEMENT OF CVFF.

After almost 13 years of an endless wait, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency says it has finally secured approval for the disbursement of the controversial Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund. The Agency's helmsman, Dr Bashir Jamoh who broke the good news at a meeting with Shipowners in Lagos said details for the disbursement were being worked out. Dr Jamoh also announced that the December 2020 deadline for Single-hull Tanker Ban would not be extended. Parastatals under the Federal Ministry of Transportation have agreed on modalities for handling areas of overlap in their responsibilities. Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, disclosed this in Lagos after a meeting of heads of the parastatals at the headquarters of the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC). Amaechi, Ship Owners Fight Dirty over N100b Vessel Financing Fund

Mallam Bashir Jamoh , Executive Director Finance and Administration at NIMASA, has said the maritime press goofed over claims that the agency spent a whooping N300m at the just concluded IMO Council meeting.
