The Lord Bishop, of Niger Delta North of Church of Nigeria (Global Anglican Communion), Rt. Rev. Wisdom Budu Ihunwo has decorated Sir Dr. GABRIEL NCHEY ACHUKWU and his wife Lady Dr. BARBARA EJEMEH NCHEY- ACHUKWU to the Order of Knight of Good Shepherd( KGS).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr Gabriel ACHUKWU and wife were among 60 others that were honored and decorated as Knight & Lady of Good Shepherd ( KGS), Knight of Saint Christopher( KGS) and Knight of Saint Mary ( KSM), respectively.
\nThe Investiture of Knights programme, was part of the activity marking the 30th Anniversary of the creation of the Diocese of Niger Delta North; even as the programe attracted dignitaries from across Nigeria, and Anglican faithfuls from diaspora. The event took place at Cathedral Church of Saint Paul, Diobu in Port Harcourt.
\nSpeaking while decorating the new Knights and their Noble Ladies, Rt Rev. Wisdom Budu Ihunwo DSSRS, Bishop of DNDN, Church of Nigeria, (Global Anglican Communion), said that 61 Knights , including those in diaspora with proven character, service to God and humanity merited the 2026 Knighthood Investiture, together with their ladies.
\n“We call on the new Knights to remember that the best thing to think of whenever they remember themselves as a Knight is ‘What is my work or duty as a lay member of the Church of God, especially to the Anglican Church’. We therefore congratulate and wish all the worthy recipients of the Knighthood Order of Saint Christopher, Saint Mary and Good Shepherd. Many more years of meritorious Service to God and humanity”. He told the newly decorated Knights.
\nIn a sermon at the , the Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Abia State, Rt. Rev. Geophery. O. Ibeabuchi congratulated all those that are decorated and invested as Knights of the Anglican Communion at the ceremony in Port Harcourt.
\nHe said they were carefully selected because of their character reflecting Christ , he noted that it is also a call to higher office in service of God and humanity.
\nIn an interview on the sideline of the Knighthood Investiture, one of the beneficiaries, who was decorated as a Knight of Good Shepherd (KGS), Sir Dr. Gabriel NCHEY ACHUKWU said: ” I feel unworthy of any earthly honour by the church, and was not expecting any. My only expectation is to run a victorious race and to receive that promised crown of victory by our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
\nHe described his Knighthood as God’s favour, which he said is unmerited. ” What can I possibly contribute to attract this huge recognition, and a call for higher responsibilities in God’s Vineyard and society?
\nHe believed that God will lead him through the right path.
\nHe also described Bishop Ihunwo as a committed man of God who is fulfilling the mandate of God in this Diocese under his episcopacy.
\nSir Dr Gabriel ACHUKWU admonished fellow Knights and the Ladies, old and new to know they are the Light of Christ shining brightly into the deep darkness of this world. Let the Glory of Jesus manifest in you & through you to the unbelievers” he reiterated .<\/p>\n

On her path, his wife – Lady Dr BARBARA EJEMEH NCHEY- ACHUKWU said she and her husband are so honoured and blessed for this recognition.
\nShe expressed appreciation to God Almighty, who through his church and the Lord Bishop , they are both honoured .She also said ” This Knighthood has taught me that whatever you do in life, some people are watching . Your godly services towards God and mankind will surely be rewarded one day,” She thanked the Lord Bishop for the honour done to them through this Knighthood Investiture. This she stated in an interview with News Angle recently.
\nLady Dr BARBARA EJEMEH NCHEY – ACHUKWU, is currently the Assistant General Manager (AGM) MEDIA PROTOCOL AND EVENT PLANNING Corporate Affairs, Headquarters, Marina, Lagos.
\nIn the interview, as she appreciates Nigerian Ports Authority Management for the opportunities, privileges, exposures, welfare, trainings etc she has benefited. She also specially recognises the Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA ) ,Dr ABUBAKAR DANTSOHO and his Executive team.She acknowledges the support of the General Manager ,Corporate Affairs, Mr Ikechukwu Onyemekara (KSC) and for his understanding, also along with her other colleagues.
