Funds accrued under the <\/span>Cabotage<\/span> Vessel Financing Fund (CVFF) are intact and currently held with the Central Bank of Nigeria under the Single Treas<\/span>ury Account (TSA). This contrary to<\/span> a misleading publication alleging that funds have disappeared from the CVFF account.<\/span><\/p>\n

The report of a missing money is both misleading and false.<\/span><\/p>\n

There has been no disappearance of funds, and no illegal transactions, as the<\/span> article suggests<\/span>.<\/span> This misinformation is a figment of the <\/span>authors<\/span> imagination<\/span>, <\/span>aimed at undermining<\/span> NIMASA\u2019s integrity, an<\/span>d mislead the public about the A<\/span>gency’s operations.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Management of <\/span>NIMASA<\/span> will ensure<\/span> that the C<\/span>VFF <\/span>is utilised in line with its statutory purpose. <\/span>NIMASA Director General <\/span>Dr<\/span> Mobereola<\/span> has assured stakeholders of the safety of funds under the CVFF.<\/span><\/p>\n

His words <\/span>\u201cLet us be clear<\/span> that<\/span> the CVFF account at the Central Bank of Nigeria is safe, intact, and secure. We at NIMASA will continue to manage it with the utmost responsibility, and there are no irregularities or illegal activities surrounding the funds. I urge the public to disregard this false narrative and to continue trusting the <\/span>A<\/span>gency\u2019s ability to uphold the integrit<\/span>y of Nigeria\u2019s maritime sector\u201d. <\/span>

The CVFF is a fund established under section 42 of the Coastal and Inland Shipping (<\/span>Cabotage<\/span>) Act 2003 to promote the development of indigenous ship acquisition capacity and to provide credit facilities to local maritime operators.<\/span><\/p>\n
