Dakuku\nstated this at the seventh edition of the Pan African International Recognition\nAwards\/Annual Discourse held in Accra, Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nDirector-General\u2019s remarks followed the recognition of NIMASA as the \u201cMost\nReliable Government Organisation of the Year\u201d at the occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organisers\nof the annual awards, Pan African International magazine, said NIMASA was\nrecognised for \u201cits giant achievements in the maritime sector, locally and\nglobally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\ntheme of this year&#8217;s event was, \u201cDriving Growth and Sustainable Economic\nDevelopment through Good Governance \u2013 Improving Structures and Policies in\nAfrica.\u201d It was a forum to showcase and honour leaders, organisations, and\nindividuals who had shown commitment to the development of the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dakuku\nsaid at the award ceremony, \u201cThis honour is a testament to the success and\ndependability of President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s economic agenda. We keyed in a\nlong time ago, and we have been running with the vision of the President to\nrestore Nigeria to greatness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt\nNIMASA, we are also pursuing a transformational agenda, and this award is\ntestimony to the effectiveness of our strategy.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\nare doing our bit as a strategic economic pillar in the collective task of\ndelivering progress to majority of Nigerians.\u201d&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nExecutive Director, Finance and Administration, Dr. Bashir Jamoh, who\nrepresented the Director-General, received the award on behalf of the Agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nevent had Director of the Kenya School of Law, Professor Patrick Loch Otieno\nLumumba, as Keynote Speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\naward ceremony brought together renowned intellectuals and financial experts\nfrom across the globe to proffer solutions to the varied challenges facing\nAfrican countries. It was an opportunity for African political and business\nleaders, government agencies, research institutions and investors to meet and\nproffer solutions to the challenges of unemployment, terrorism, insecurity and\ncorruption, which have prevented most African countries from reaching their\ndevelopmental potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\n2019 award is the latest recognition of the efforts by NIMASA, under the\ncurrent management, to positively contribute to the socioeconomic development\nof Nigeria, and the African continent, in general.
